Solid Fall Day on the Hill
Daddy and I fished GA Little River and it was on fire. Pattern was the same as last week - - fish suspended at 12-15' around submerged timber in 20-30', but the bite was better. Fished from 9a-2p, put 50 in the box and half were solid slabs of a pound or better. About 50/50 minnows and jigs. Hot jig was a Bobby Garland baby shad on a 1/32 oz head fished deep and very, very slow, with some twitches thrown in. Some of the bites were very subtle and you had to watch the line intensely to avoid missing fish. Once you stuck them, they fought hard, even the smaller ones. Marked a lot of fish and a ton of bait. Water warmed to 71 by 2p when we called it quits. We stopped at 50 and left them biting. Can't wait for the next trip!
