Thats' really sad about Reelfoot...a lake with quite a history in this area. I remember back in the 60's my Dad had a friend with a small airplane and sometimes they would just fly down for the evening to eat fish at one of the restaurants. And I remember a few duck hunting and fishing shows use to get filmed there. Always one of those places I was going to go next year.

Should have known they would have the Asian Carp sickness. What a scourge on our land.

SeaRay. SHHHHHHHH. Cordell Hull is a hidden secret. Once you mastered some locations it can be very good crappie fishing.
It also has some good sauger fishing as well.

Hands down the best fishing for Crappie is Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley.
Never have I seen better anywhere. Except when the North Wind blows and
    its cold....

Certainly a matter of opinion but I'd say the big four are Reelfoot, KY Lake, Douglas, and Chickamauga. Several others are good and some seem very cyclical.

A couple of the guys that came in to fish brought a sauger up to show me. I had caught Waylleye in Erie and Canada, but I had to look up Sauger to find it was a cousin to the Walleye. Guess there are Walleye in Cordell Hull too, but I never knew anyone to catch them. It is a secret apparently, because I seldom saw more than a boat or two, except for the holidays when the skiers and water fleas took over for a few days.
