    Default Bump in the night

Sleeping soundly and for no apparent reason, I wake up. After a trip to the room I try to lay back down and go back to sleep before I have to answer the alarm. After a couple of minutes I hear a loud THUMP. No mistaking this one. I'm up and look out the bedroom window and the boats unmolested, cover intact. Move to the front of the house and look out the front window and there's definitely something in my driveway. But wait, that's no shadow------It's a full grown black bear. Every bit of 200lbs plus. Wife is shaking in her slippers, dogs getting excited and definitely not going out. I thump both hands on the front door to make an unhappy noise to maybe get a reaction, this bear couldn't have cared less. We had chicken for dinner and it no doubt got after the stinky bones in the trash and the thump was the can going over. Wife is excited thinking it might want to come through the bedroom window. Finally comforted her and convinced her that they don't normally do that, the bear wandered on east through the neighborhood towards Andy's house and I'm going back to bed. Welcome to the woods. I thought this was in town?

Regular occurrence. Had to put up motion lights on font of house after several close calls in the morning headed out to work in the dark and walking round the truck and bout walking into one. They are all over Orange City, Deland and Debary. Gotta be real careful what you do with fish carcases too. Cant seem to bury em deep enough to not attract them. FWC no longer relocates em, you call they trap and kill them. I quit calling when they made that change this year.

I don't remember us loading any of those on the truck. So much for your pack of killer watch dogs.

Welcome to the neighborhood, they are everywhere back here. Freeze all scraps and only put in can on pickup morning. Also put ammonia on can and on garbage bags no problem now.

Or you can place them in the cans in the Walfart parking lot. I hear they really appreciate it.
