    Default Decatur Causeway Report 10-19

Fished The small bridge under the causeway for an hour or so starting around 1 pm and caught and released or gave away 15 keepers between 10-12 inches. The guy I was giving them too didn't have a measuring device and didn't want to take my word that the 10 inchers were legal......caught all of them on a tandem jig rig with a red and white maribou jig on top and a pearl bobby garland on the bottom jig that had a chartreuse head with an eye painted on it. I was casting at the bridge pilings and counting the rig down to 11 ft and retrieving it as slowly as I could. water is down and near winter pool. Its time to get em......

    Riverboss, thanks for the report.

I've been wondering when they were going to start showing up there!

I tie a jig on with a palomar knot leaving 18 inches dangling below it and then do the same 12-14 inches below the first jig. takes about a minute to do if I have my reading glasses with me.

I usually pre-tie some and wrap on a piece of styro. I use either two 1/32 or a 1/16 and 1/32 on bottom. Sometimes, I will trim the bottom head to 1/64.
