Default Fishing with wife on Lake Henderson 10-14-15

Went fishing with my wife today on Lake Henderson in Inverness. This was my first trip to Henderson crappie fishing and it turned out pretty good. We finally started fishing around 8:30 and caught our first fish 10 minutes later, 1lb 11oz. The bite was pretty good until around 10:30. We ended up catching 15 specs and 6 bass. Took home 12 specks. The 7 big speck weight was 8lb 11oz. My wife had a blast landing a 4 lb bass on her 12 ft crappie pole. That drag was screaming for quite a while. I couldn't offer her any help because I had 2 bass on at the same time, one on each side of the boat. Must have went through a school. So overall it was a great day on Lake Henderson....Name: Henderson2 10-14-15.jpg

Nice catch, is Henderson off Rt 27 just south of Haines City ? Always wondered about that lake when driving by for work sometimes, looks like 2 lakes in 1 if it's the 1 I'm thinking about
    crappie down !

Thanks for sharing Jim - excellant report and pictures to back it up............
    Glad you had good time................

Henderson is off hwy 44 & hwy 41, west of Wildwood about 11 miles.....
6,000 acre center pool of Apoka Chain.
Excellant fishery - not pounded/hammered like Harris Chain

Last year FCC tournament - big fish 2 lbs 8.5 oz with 7 fish stringer of
    12 lbs 8.5 oz..............

Many 2 pounders were taken on prefish ...............5 lakes involved with the
pool. Lake is medium stained - 25' deep in places, many holes, reeds, kissimmee
grass, drop-offs - grass beds - 4 brush pile markers.
Excellant aluminum boat ramp - can drop 2 at a time............parking is kinda tuff,
across street 1 block away - blacktop with pinic area.
