Finally got all the stuff to put a Zonker cutter together today. Made it to better protect my fingers than the one on YouTube
Panels from a Mink Fur Coat my daughter brought me
Straight and Cross-Cuts and gallon bags full
and plenty left to cut more.

Please explain the difference between the crosscut and the plain cut zonker?

Thanks guys!! Yeah it makes it alot easier cutting 6 at a time, and the longer screw makes a nice rest for your finger, and best of all NO CUTS on me!! LOL When All the cuts are made I take the vacume cleaner and suck all the cut strips in the hose and it sucks loose fur out and it doesn't go all over. And because I cleaned out the Vac bucket all the loose hair went into a zip bag for dubbing on flies. Gotta figure the best angle to cut down on loose stuff but it sure beats cutting them one at a time with an X-Acto or box cutter.
Redge - the cross-cuts make it easier to wrap around the shank of the jig to make a nice full body. The straight ones can be used the same way but you have to pull the fibers back on each wrap. The straights make nice long tails on some jigs.

Nice work Doug. The zonkers turned out real nice and it does make a lot of waste hair/dubbin![]()

Thanks all - Still have the sable to try yet - and still have to finish the rabbit vest which is nothing more than a bunch or regular zonker strips.
