Nice going, at least you got out and caught a few. I will be out there tomorrow.

Hit the branch today for yellow perch. Heard from some friends they caught some nice ones recently. The water has been pretty low. Not so today, it was pretty close to full pool. Not sure if that had anything to do with the bite, but I only caught small YP. I did however get seven crappie. One was a dink, one was just over 12" and the other 5 were between 12.5" - 12.75". I did lose two that were notably larger than what I caught, but it didn't surprise me. The bite was a bit "off." It felt like the fish hit well, but I missed many bites and lost several others that I did not see. They thumped the jig well, but just weren't getting the jig all the way down. Strange day, but I still had a good time. My fish came in 12-14 FOW, all on jigs. I changed colors on a regular basis and about everything I threw was hit, but, like I stated, it was a strange bite. Good luck!

I follow the water levels of the Norfolk owned Suffolk Lakes on this site, City of Norfolk, Virginia - Official Website - Reservoir Elevations The level had come up over 2' recently and quickly.

Thanks for the report. Nice size on the ones that hit the deck.
Great job Kevin!!!! Nothing wrong with 12" crappie. Seems like every weekend the weather stinks for me.
