You should try launching at Scott's Ridge on the west side of the 1097 bridge. You can launch and theere are standing timber in the water to fish for crappie close to the ramp. Lots of timber and submerged trees to catch them on. You can hit all the trees in that cove (if you try...lol) and go to the bridge easily if no bites. There is a bait store on 1097 on the east side of the bridge before you get to the bridge. They love the minnows so you can have some if they are not biting jigs alone. Try tipping the jig. Works for me.
