Ray, buy the girls several bottles of wine and tell them to stay indoors. It's going to be a wet weekend at the beach I'm afraid.

Went to Murray today with my buddy, Harry, to try for some perch that Eatmorecrappie had located earlier and shared with me. He must have caught them all because we could not find them today. We went out last Friday and the wind was so bad we could not stay on them. Today was perfect conditions but nobody told the fish.
This was what the DF looked like from the ramp at Southshore Marina all the way to the no wake bouy.
To us, that looks like fish stacked up, but they would not bite anything we tried from minnows to jigs to spoons. Just a mystery why we could not get a bite here. After striking out in Marks honey hole we tightlined minnows back into the creek channel and ended up with 6 channel cats, two that went about 5 Lbs and were fun on light rods. I caught a nice bream by the boat slips with a Beetle Spin and Harry caught one of the largest Yellow Perch I have seen at Murray.
Some of you guys have said that Russell has really large Yellow Perch and I would love to get into that action if anyone knows how and when to target them.
We also picked up a White Perch here and there and while we did not keep any today, we figured we actually ended up with a decent mixed bag of fish. We have not been a whole lot for WP but the times we went we have not found them like we did in years past. I know they are still there, just a matter of finding them. Looks like we may have more rain for a few days so fishing will be on hold until this storm passes by.
Oh, talk about bad timing, my wife and 11 more of her high school classmates have been for many years been renting a big old house at the beach for a fun girls weekend. Yep, they are supposed to go this weekend. Not sure how they will make out.
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men

SeaRay LIKED above post
Ray from what my co-workers said kinda back what you did... they were trying to catch them stripers before the size limit kicks back in today and they where amazed how far back in the creeks the bait fish were and not to mention hard to catch because they've been gorging on shad.
If we get all the rain they're calling for it maybe end of Oct. before things get right for this time of year. (hope not)
If you don't get hung every-once-n-a-while you ain't jigg'n it right..:D

HUMANKIND......be both
Some times the slow day teach you more about the lake because you try more tackle than you would have. Still sounds like a good day catching a mixed bag. Thanks for the report.
