Went and was like a kid in a candy store. We only have a walmart with one 30' aisle for hunting, and the same for fishing.
Its smaller than the Wichita store, but was OK. Came out of there with a new HS7, gen two that was on sale for the new rig, and a Yeti mug. Wallet was a whole lot lighter.
I was installing the Lowrance today, and found there was not a mounting bracket for the side scan transducer. Called the store, gave them my transaction number from the receipt, and they agreed to ship one to me at no charge since it was supposed to be included in the package. They called once to tell me they were shipping, but I only got a voice mail since I was in the shop. Later that evening got a follow up call to make sure I got their message. Good customer service.
Four years ago when we had our "Get Together" at Arrowhead State Park, Cabelas sent us a large box full of gifts to pass out to the crappie fishermen as door prizes. I couldn't get Bass Pro to cooperate. I became a Cabelas customer for life after their response to giving us those gifts.
AMERICANS: Willing to cross a frozen river to kill you, in your sleep, on Christmas, totally not kidding, we've done it.
I have always loved cabelas more than bass pro and the service has always been great. . . I will remain an online customer . . . . I heard that they are building a gander mountain in Moore. . . Sure hope it won't be another let down.
Gander Mt in Tulsa reminds me of Academy.
Was a let down.

They are all good to have available. As mentioned, there can be some really good sales. BPS and Academy have a good assortment of fishing stuff and Cabelas and Gander Mountain have better hunting stuff (especially for a bird hunter.) I hadn't heard of a possibility of a Gander Mountain in Moore. I would like to see that happen. I remember back in the early 60's how good Gander Mountain mail order was. I was in Europe and got all my supplies from them. Then Cabelas bought out the Gander Mountain mail order business and they couldn't sell except in a few store locations for several years per the agreement. That's when Cabelas became big time throughout the country. I've had good customer service from all of them. (You notice I haven't mentioned D****)

D**** will never get a dime of my business after they jacked up their ammo prices the way they did during the ongoing ammo shortage. They lost a lot of customers as a result, and have been trying to get it back, but the people that shoot for recreation are not having any part of it.
