Southern Crappie Rods is coming out with a new pushing rod that should do exactly what you are wanting to do, think he is only doing 14 footers for right now.

I am using the PST 16' and may want to get something with a little more backbone, if thats possible. Which BnM would you guys recommend? I currently use the 3/4oz sinker on my spider rigs, but was thinking of keeping a few rigged with 1.5oz or a little better in case the water gets a little rough. I may end up calling BnM if I need to. Suggestions?

If you could find some of the old Wally Marshal tight line specials, I think they would do the trick. Very strong and stiff, you whoop a fence post with them and they wouldn't splinter. They can also tote some mighty heavy weight.

I think the Crappie Maxx tight line special is the same as the old Wally Marshal tight line special. I just do not have any personal experience with the Crappie Maxx. Sometimes subtle changes make a big difference, I honestly do not know if they are the same. But I bet ya someone here does.

I have 8. 2 B & M and 6 tight line specials. The Crappie Maxx are stiff with plenty of backbone and they are still very sensitive. Wouldn't trade 'em for nothing. I know B & M has the name and all of the prostaffers to boot, but I'm gonna stick with the Crappie Maxx.
And you are right, BRM. They are the same rods. Only a different name after BPS and Wally Marshall parted ways.
16' Slow Trol rods have more backbone.
BnM Crappie Wizard Trolling rods are stiffer. I actually use them to pull cranks with.
I can save ya some $$$ on the Crappiemaxx.
