    Default Plier throwing cottonmouth killer!

As a kid my mom and stepdad would bring me and my four brothers with them to their farm while they worked cattle and brush hogged. We always knew to load up our fishing poles and tackle because there was 2 ponds stocked with bass and crappie. Well during this particular time of year it was cottonmouth breeding season and we would only go to one of the two ponds bc the banks were cleared off and not a whole lot of weeds and brush fro the snakes to hide in. We started fishing and right off the bat one of my brothers went to cast his rod and got snagged on what he thought was a tree limb behind him so he started jerking as hard as he could, next thing I know my older brother is screaming and hollering " Stop jerking the pole, you hooked me in the a$$!!!" And I mean he was raising hell too, so I run over there, hes jumping up and down hollering still, I said hold still and ill try and pull it out with the pliers. I took the pliers and barely touched the hook and it fell out, we gave him hell about it for the next couple hours and laughed.

After hours of fishing and having fun that same day we decided to head back to the barn, we had to pass that other pond and we just knew we might run into some cottonmouths. So were walking along there and see a hole with a big 'ole wad of cottonmouths balled up, me being the curious one I threw a rock in the hole. Thats was a bad idea, them suckers come out of there like a swarm of waspers, just before we took off running my brother took his needlenose pliers and threw them at one of the snakes. When he threw those pliers the needle nose part went right directly through the center of that snakes head. We came back later to get the pliers and showed our mom, she couldnt believe it. We bought some throwing knives after that and couldnt even stick one into a target lol

Needle nose pliers are a versatile tool for sure.

Our safety representative at work advised me that a study was conducted and they were found to not be aggressive. I asked him to please forward that to the North Louisiana cotton mouths, because apparently they didn't get the memo.
