Took a few attempts but got my 89 year old father in law back on the water. Wanted to show him some of Henderson that he'd never seen so we made the run up to Fuselier, north of Bijeaux. While the scenery was great, he let me know that the few sac a lait we were catching there was not enough to keep his interest. Next stop was near the Dupuis pits where I new a few easy bites would be had. Plenty of small fish kept us busy, keeping me in his good graces…We made a small move down the canal hitting 3 of the small lay downs there and as it worked out he tied into a solid 14 inch sac a lait. That one fish made both of our day. "I thought I was stuck on a log" and bent in half fly rod got me scrambling for the net. This one did not get away. Only kept 15 sac a lait but this trip is going to be one of those memory makers…Here is a picture of the BOSS…good fishing all…BC![]()
