The wind has been kinda rough last day or so but Saturday is looking great. Crappie are biting great shooting docks. Crappie are also showing up in the channel in big numbers.

I was looking at the wind graphs for the next few days. Looks like Sunday is going to be the next good day as far as the winds are concerned. I plan on being there early.

Do any of you know at what wind speed the lake starts to white cap? On Lake Murray here is SC it seems it starts to cap around 10 MPH. I always thought 10 MPH was not a big deal, but when the water starts white capping I head for a cove or the landing. Those with stick steer boats will understand.

I understand what you are talking about. We have been at Lake Blackshear in my stick steer when it was white capping. It makes for a ruff day.

I'm not sure if it starts white capping on all lakes at the same wind speed or not. I would think that the size and depth of the lake would be factors tho.

15 mph and Blackshear is going to be rough...you can fish it, but it will be a tough. I was going this morning but with 10-15 with gusts to 20...nope...not on Blackshear even in my PT 175.
