Default It was a beautiful night on Lake Norman

It was a beautiful night on the water. Full moon warm gentle breezes. Music from the club, a night made for love. But not the love for fishing. Saying the fishing was disappointing makes it sound like better then it was. I knew it was going to be hard with the full moon but I did not thank it would be like it was. NO BITES AT ALL, NO minnows around the light. Fished deep, shallow and in-between could not find them. SKUNKED and that has not happened in a long time.WT 84 super clear.

I have always heard that full moon was the best time to fish, is this not correct?

Not for me. Have tried several full moon nightstalks. It is nearly a waste of time for me.

If you are a Brim fisherman ,,,yes,,,full moon in May and June are prime time, but for about anything else I don't like to fish around the full moon...On the night stalking method,,the darker the night, the better? Its much easier to draw the baitfish in to your lights.

For day time fishing, I never miss a full moon fishing trip if I can help it. Hadn't night fished in 10 years, catch more during the day,but when I did night fish, the darker the better, never go on a full moon.

I would not have gone but it was the only night I had off for the next two weeks. It would have been a wast of time but injoy being on the water.

If the water super clear, that means there isn't anything for the plankton to feed on. No plankton, no minnows. Full moons are tough but try finding a secluded cove close to fish traffic. Depending on the arc of the full moon, you might be able to keep the light off your area and your light will be more attractive. Just a thought.
