Another question which will have be answered by Franks is what Shad do we have in Nimrod ? What I see quicly grow large . I never see tiny Threadfins in Nimrod during the winter like we do in Dardanelle . But loads of larger I asume Gizzard Shad ?

Nimrod, please help me understand your logic on this statement:
"The 10'' min length years back did not help . I still have a self imposed limit of 10."
I refuse to clean small fish, alot of folks just want a mess of fish. But I just like to catch fish and don't need them . The AGFC tried the 10'' length limit and told us it did not help with the large spawns on this lake . Slow growth caused by too many Crappie and not enough forage small enough for them to utilize many times . If I kept fish under 10'' then most days my fishing would be over quick .

I think that Ben's point is that a lot of crappie anglers have the same attitude toward harvest size as you. If most crappie anglers are only willing to harvest 10" crappie or larger, things will not get better.

I thought I was on lake Nimrod yesterday, caught easily 40-50 undersized fish to catch 7 good fish. There is a heck of a crop coming up on Conway. Love seeing those Cute little guys.

Man me personally... Don't have any complaints about Nimrod. Tell Frank he is doing a Heck of a Job for me Matt. Catching allot of good fish fat and sassy, yes allot of times you got to wade through some small ones, but that's just Nimrod and they keep you busy till your next good fish hits, which isn't been taking long lately. Great JOB AGFC.

As a fisheries biologist, we debate amongst our selves what is the minimum size kept on a lake without a minimum length limit. Of course this could be answered with a creel survey. But creel limits cost tons on money and are very time consuming. My guess is that there are more Nimrods than Shawns on Lake Nimrod. What do y'all think?

I'd say there are more folks that keep small fish than those that chose to keep only the better fish, just from what I've witnessed , nothing wrong with keeping what ever your happy with taking home and eating as long as it's within the regulations for that body of water , they all eat pretty darn good!!!!!
