    Default Salt water today

Made a trip to Big Lake this morning before the rain. Managed to catch about 3/4 of a bucket before the rain chased me off and also brought home about 2 dozen crabs that a generous man gave me. Here are the pictures.

Looks good. That's what I had for supper tonight. Shrimp fettuccini Alfredo. Life is good.

I got my hands on some today also. Of course I didn't catch them but at $1 a pound for some 50 count shrimp, I call it a great catch. Peel some and fried for supper, um um good.

Shadow a friend of mine was telling me today they went a couple of weeks ago picked up some 16/20s mixed in with his catch. He said only 2 to 5 a cast. Thats a lot of work to get 25#. How long did it take to catch them.

Hey Don, I got out there about 6:30 and left at 9:30. NONE of these were 16/20s. Most of mine were on the small side and would probably count out 35/40 maybe even a little smaller. Lots of work for small shrimp and there was a TON of jellies mixed in. Your friend may have been talking about Rockefeller, I heard they were catching bigger shrimp down there.

Pawpaw, normally at this time of year I am catching bigger shrimp and they start getting smaller as the year goes on. Shrimp grow at an amazing rate when it is hot, I think it is something like 1/4" a week. Oh well I will just have to keep going to see.
