This is the lake behind the I-49 rest area at mile marker 34, near Ville Platte. Looked up the WLF info on it - Manmade, 200 acres & was stocked with 12,000 Florida largemouth & 4500 channel cats between 2009 and 2011. The WLF species profile sampling lists over 40 species including white and black crappie, bluegills, redears, etc. I hear it's pretty popular in the summer with jet skis and skiers, but I would imagine that once the weather cools down the fishermen would have the lake to themselves. I’ve never been there, but from Google Earth it looks like a pretty nice boat launch.
Anyone fish there lately?

Have fished it in the past.Good fish if and when you can get on them.Been a while since I fished it but when I did at times picked up nice sac-a-lait.Will need to plan trip when weather cools down.

I have fished it once, did pretty good right by the boat ramp.
