Mainly talking about Rayon which most regular chenille is that and the other is Nylon which is all the Florescent colors and there is a Black and Brown in both kinds. They also have a couple other colors in Nylon, but most chenille colors that is not Mylar is going to be Rayon. If you take a piece of Rayon chenille and gently hold it between thumb and finger and pull it with other hand, it will feel more rough one way and the other way will feel more smooth. You want to always tie it in using the rough end so when you make your wraps it will look more even and not like that top jig looks with the flat looking places.
Also sometimes you get Mylar on a card and if they put it on right and it's been on that card a while it will lay one direction more than the other and you want to tie it in so its lean ends up pointing back. Lots of times thought it has no direction of a lean and then it doesn't seem to matter. With Mylar it really is not near as important as the Rayon and really that is only to make it look like a better tie! I doubt the fish care, LOL! However we all care what our jigs look like to other guys right?
I have written a ton of tips here and some o learned on my own amd some I searched for and found answers. Real all the sticky post at the top too.
