I laugh every time I am told crappie don't feed down.
I have experienced several times when I had to fish below the fish to get bit..
Casting a jig and bobber, the bobber will lay on its side, when you set the hook there is 2' of slack.
Shallow up and no bite, go back deep and get bit.
Has happened to me many times!
