Thread: Wakarusa River Boat Ramp

I was at the Wakarusa River boat ramp about 3 weeks ago. The ramp was heavily silted in and covered to about 3/4 quarters of the length of the ramp, almost up into the parking area. The ramp was functionally unusable except for the most macho 4x4.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the current condition of the ramp?

I traveled to the Wakarusa River this morning. The boat ramp IS usable. Little muddy, little stinky with the rot and stench of all the recent rain.

It has been 4 to 5 years since the Wakarusa has carried the volume of water out to the lake that it has this year. The river was up 10+ feet on a couple of occasions and with one rain event, the river hopped up with the crest almost spilling into the parking lot.

The volume and duration of high water has really re-sculpted the log jams of the river.
