Line is one of those terminal fishing items that for most is a personal choice thing. I use 2# test SOS Trout line most of the time. I think it is the best bang for the buck. I also dabble in some Japanese lines and have tried just about all the 2# test lines sold on the US domestic market. Depending on how much you fish...how many fish one may catch....IMHO....is a determining factor on how often one changes line. And there is the problem for all...the cost. I change line about every two weeks....and sometimes more often. If I am catching two to three hundred bluegill in a week....throw in several dozen white and yellow bass in there...the occasional largemouth that really works my line over...and I am ready to change it out. That is why I use mostly 2# SOS. It has good knot strength....decent casting distance....manageability....and the cost is not that bad. I love the Japanese lines but I don't use them that much due to cost. But keep in mind I fish 5 days a week....365 a year.
