    Default Adult Youth Fishing Event

Once again my grand daughter and I took part in the 40th annual Big Daddy Fishing Event held out of Santee State park on beautiful Santee Cooper Lakes. This is my 29th year fishing the tournament as I first took Mia's dad 29 years ago to the day for my first time taking a child fishing during the event. Not sure how many children participated this year, but a nice crowd of 75 or so was present for the weigh in festivities. Some beautiful catches were made covering the gamut of species. Bass, crappie, bluegill, and shellcracker dominated the catches. Broad smiles were seen all over the place as the kids with their prizes paraded the grounds . Mia and I were fortunate enough to place first with a 20 fish limit of crappie weighing in at 19 pounds 12 ounces. Thanks to all the park Rangers and prize sponsors for their time and generosity. Congrats to all the participants and trophy winners.

Congrats to you and Mia. Looks like a good event with a hugh turnout. Love hearing about the kids being involved. There's just so many Dad's that I knew of throughout mym life that never took the time to share fishing or hunting with thier kids when they grew up. They just never knew what they missed.
