    Default Topwater bite

Boys its on in the farm ponds. Neighbor gave me permission to fish her pond just down the road. Little boy wanted to go for an ATV ride so we jumped on and I grabbed a pole. This pond is tiny, I can easily cast across it from any point, but its deep. She didn't know if it had any fish. Threw a popper. First fish was a 3 lb largemouth. Caught 5 more after that. Didn't have my phone but a buddy stopped and snapped a picture after watching a fish blow up my popper.

Hit another pond later this evening. Its loaded with crappie and bass. Crappie wouldn't play, the bass did. Again another topwater bite. We will be at it tomorrow. Ponds we are hitting tomorrow are loaded with crappie, green sunfish, and bass. Also take note because the fall pics will be with me hopefully 20 lbs lighter.

Neighbor called this morning after I sent her that pic. Said if that one has fish go try my other two. Jumped on the ATV to check them out. Was rewarded at the first pond I hit. Several nice bass. THen I put on a small jig. It has a bunch of bluegill in it. Going to hit it with the kids after church. Hoping to get on the crappie this evening.

The top water bite was pretty spectacular here last night. They wouldn't touch a buzz bait but they were flat out destroying a popper. I'll try and post a video

Still biting. We had 30 minutes till the wife got home from work so hopped on the Rancher and headed to the neighbors pond. First popper cast was fish on and it was pretty furious. Let my little man reel in the fish I hooks. Caught a real nice one and a bunch in the pound to pound and a half range. Even caught a really aggressive blue gill

Daughter was casting an 1/8oz jig with a grub body. She got her line broke twice before landing this one

That is so cool. Spend all the time you can with them cause they are growing up as you watch them.

Time to break out the fly rod and have a blast. I caught several nice bluegill yesterday morning on a fly rod popper in a small pond too. Lot of fun.

I've got a fly rod somewhere. Havent used it in 10 years. The little man is 2.5 and all he wants to do now is go fishing.

Youngest wanted to go tonight. Walked outside and saw darkening skies but we tried it anyway.
Waiting on daddy to get the gate shut

Decent bluegill he reeled in for daddy

To windy to catch anything on topwater but I tried a few casts with the popper. Only got in about 15 casts before I heard what could be thunder so we scooted back to the house.
