Yes we started chasing some schools of mullet with the cast net when it got hot . Trying to stock up for the upcoming garfish rodeo next week . We have enough now but a lil extra never hurts .

Looks real slow. Wish I had been fishing. And while I'm at it, wish it was cooler.

We like us some smoked mullet around here, plus that used to be a big part of my bread and butter when I commercial fished. Ain't nothin better than fried mullet and grits. And mullet gizzard gravy. Boy Howdey!

Haha ! I heard they eat mullet towards Mississippi , I've never tried it . We do like smoked garfish and pouldeau gizzard gravy !!

Some people around here pay big money for mullet for garfish bait , especially around tournament time .

I've eaten it in Florida restaurants way back and cooked here at home. If it comes out of the right water it's real good.
