would like to plan a trip to Kentucky lake area for some crappie fishing next spring, I will be bringing my own boat and am looking for some ideas or suggestions on where to stay on the water. any help is greatly appreciated.

looking to book a trip next spring, would April be the best time to try our hands and landing some crappie? I know there are a lot of variables just trying to maximize my time. also would not mid hiring a guide for the first time timeout also
