    I use lots of orange in South Georgia. I would tie that one on here for sure and fish it the rivers.

    I use a orange/chartreuse/black jig head combination that I like real well..

    Just for kicks here is another great combo I use to tie for a guide here in Texas and these worked for him very well.

    Black/FL Orange/FL Chart

    so, whats the thinking?
    Just the brightest colors are the most easily seen, therefore, in general, the best colors to use?
    Is it all about contrast and not really trying accurately mimic a minnow?

    As long as it's not deep, but Yellows and Orange/Red colors don't show as their color once they get deeper. These colors fall out before others. Blue and Violet are the last two colors that will show as their color when dropping down deeper. Now Florescent and UV colors change a lot of that so they would be in a difference category kind of!

    Good looking jig. Different colors work better in some areas than others. Always worth a try. Nice work.
