Church and Airways will be covered up soon. The outlet mall on the northwest side. Cabela's and Costco coming too. It's a wonder walmart doesn't build a bigger store or neighborhood market there too.

My plumber son-in-law has put a bid in on the Columbia Sports Outlet. It will be a free standing building with the Tanger center.

remember when that intersection was the end of Airways (if not mistaken) and Church Rd was a gravel road, watched a lot of submarine races out that way and we had a horse club out that too.

I remember when Airways was gravel at Stateline rd. South, it was straight for a bite then zig zag through the gravel pits. A lot of free dumps were made there. Airways dead end at Goodman rd. Goodman rd Pawn Shop was on the corner, it was a store with gas pumps at one time.
Church and Airways, Airways went north for about a quarter mile to a house. We picked peaches at this farm. Airways went south to Pleasant Hill rd and was off set. The interstate was built, Airways north of Church was taken in, under the interstate. Airways (Old Airways)south of Church was moved to the east a bit and lined up at Starlanding with Airways. The truck scales on I-55 cut Airways from Starlanding to Pleasant Hill.
Airways from Memphis airport to Church is 5 lanes. From Church to Miller rd it's 3 lanes. From Miller to College rd it's 2 lanes. I see a few paint marks and flags on Miller, Old Airways and Airways. I guess the roads will change again.

Yep, from Horn Lake to Olive Branch was 2 lane. A traffic light at 51 then clear sailing to Olive Branch City Park. It was a 15 minute trip.
Then the road was widened to 5 lanes, traffic lights at every other intersection, 30 to 45 minutes now.
Church rd is getting that bad now.
