    Default Sinclair Thursday Night

Me and ole Fred needed some R&R so we decided to try night fishing up at Sinclair. We picked up two bags of minners and launched around 8PM. It was so peaceful just sitting there on the Pontoon enjoying the breeze and watching the last few boats go by. Lanterns out at 845PM and the baitfish begin to gather around 930PM. Soon after the silver streaks started moving and the tips of the rods started to go down often. Around 100AM the last minnow was loaded on the hook and dern if a lonely brim nailed it. We caught Cat, whites, Crappie, and one brim. We caught many 4-6 inch Specs which went back to grow up as much as a Sinclair fish can grow.

We relived many stories of the catches we had together over the 50 years we have fished and hoped there would be many more before our last cast.

Night time during the summer is a nice time for fishing. When it finally cools off the fun usually begins. Only problem I had is I get so durn lazy out there that I just hate to quit fishing and go to all the trouble of loading the boat and heading back home. Oh well....that's part of it I guess. Congrats on a good story, a great time, and a good catch.

i didn`t know lanterns were still used . i have some i need to git out and start using for some night fishing . i found some looks like a good spot. some old river channels off the main run of boat traffic . 18 to 20 ft of water on the upper end of the lake close to my camper . that way i don`t have to load the boat and travel a long ways to home .it sure is to hot during the day time .
retired and now i will always fish

I got every light there is for night fishing. Over the years have tried them all including LED, green, floating, etc but the old Coleman Lantern is by far, the best to use. It brings bugs, kills them, bait fish come up to eat them, and the eating fish follow. You just can't beat them. For so many years Fred and I kept a small house boat at Raysville Marina on Clark Hill just to use it for night fishing both Winter and Summer. We would pull it out to a hump on Friday and fish Friday and Saturday night. I don't remember a bad night in all those years.
