Check the reserve amp hours before you buy either one. The more, the better. Don't buy a dual purpose battery. Buy a Deep Cycle.

limited by space to two 27 group batteries. Choice between interstate at 105 each or everstart at wally world at 82 each. what is the right choice. Probably same battery but who knows???been running exide dual [purpose for 2 years and got about 5 -6 hours of pulling if I worked at it. was satisfied with this and don't expect much more.

Thanks. Just wondering if there is a reason to spend the extra 50 bucks for the interstates. Stats are same. Never had troubles with the dual purpose from academy for 50 bucks each on sale. Just like nice fresh batteries every couple of years. I can move these to somewhere else. 5 boats, 2 ATVs, camper and motorcycle keep me battery poor.

Wally World is my choice. Never had a minutes problem if I've had to exchange one.

If the batteries have the same reserve amp hours, which are rated at 25% load, I'd buy the cheaper one. You pay a lot for the Interstate name, but they do have a good exchange policy if you get a bad one.
A dual purpose battery is usually for a combo use between cranking and deep cycle. They usually don't last as long if using them primarily for deep cycle. If you've had long term good luck with them on your Trolling Motors etc. that's great. I think you would get longer use from a deep cycle in that situation tho.

Couldn't pass up the 50 buck price. They worked fine but I only run them 2 years.

I had 2 of the everstart batteries in my boat for years, they finally both went out this year and when I was replacing them both were punched in April of 2007. I never had any problems out of them trolled many hours on them.
I paid a bunch for a pair of Interstate series 27 a few years ago. One of them went out really soon. I went back to the Interstate center and the guy checked both of mine and said "I'll make you a real deal". He offered to exchange my series 27s for series 29 for $20 bucks more. I asked if they were factory new and he said they were. I jumped on that deal. In a few months one of them wouldn't hold a charge for long. I got to checking around some of my fishing buddies who ran Interstates and found out the guy at the store had a pallet of new, old stock series 29s he had been pawning off on folks like me. No telling how old those two 29s actually were. When I went back to the store, they told me the story was BS and wouldn't do anything about either of mine. Last time I will ever darken their door. I ran them for some time then went to Everstarts and have had nothing but good luck with them.
My next battery purchases for my Terrova will be golf cart units.

Pay the extra and get the "gel cell" batteries. I can pull cranks for 8 hrs straight in my Ranger 522 with a 80lb 24v Terrova on one set of batteries. Granted I think they are 31's but I am pulling a lot of boat around
