Default Family Trip To Toledo Bend....Crappie advice needed !!!

Heading up to Toledo Bend this weekend with my wife and son. I was wondering if anyone had any reports or knows and good community holes to catch some crappie around? I have pretty good electronics so if I know the general area I figure maybe I could find some brush piles or something. Are the fish holding in about 20-25 feet of water right now ? I have heard they get pretty deep during the summer. Appreciate any tips anyone could give me. We are staying in San Miguel but I plan on fishing all over so any advice would be appreciated !

They're going to be deep with this hot weather. There's an artificial reef outside the boat lane heading into the state park which has done me well on occasion. Also, if you take a right along the boat lane from San Miguel, across from the second cove on your right is a large standing timber outside the boat lane on the left. About 20 feet from that timber is a deep hole with a brush pile in it. Also, if you take a left from the landing before the main boat lane, the flats in front of Wildwood resort is a spot for pulling crank baits. Lots of catfish though. Let us know how you do.

Thanks Randy, just a little confused about the spot with the hole and brush in it. You said take a right along the boat lane from San Miguel ??? Are you referencing the park and what boat lane ??? Main one running NE/SW ??? Are you heading towards the back or main lake?? Thanks Buddy !!!
