They hold lots of Bass Tourneys at Sardis, and catch lots of Bass. Most people in Sippi prefer to just buy their tomato fertilizer tho. It's cheaper than the cost of going fishing.

I know this is a crappie site but can't help but wonder why it is that Sardis, Enid ,Arkabutla and Grenada aren't thought of as Bass lakes. Seems the forage base would provide good growth potential. However saw a list of the top 100 bass lakes omitted them.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

At one time Grenada was an awesome bass lake, Enid and Sardis still are but not top 100 worthy. Think about the time a bass spawns, late January thru maybe Feb, these lakes are normally drawn down, no vegitation for the fry to thrive and hide in if they did get hatched.
FLW came to Grenada 5 or so years ago and had one of the worst weigh-ins in their history and swore they would never be back.
They used to stock Sardis with some bass and it hosts one of the biggest bass tourneys in the country with the St. Jude being held that each year, there is a push for them to consider have a combo tournehy and ad a crappie division to this tourney, we will see how it works out.

Back in the 70's and early 80's bass fishing was big time on Sardis,Enid and Grenada. I fished Sardis and Enid. In my opinion Enid was and still is a good bass fishery. Just not many people fishing for them anymore. Arkabutla is a good bass lake if you can figure them out but it was always as temperamental for me as the crappie fishing. Bunch of good fish in there if you can figure them out.

Fished the St. Jude several times. Just never see many folks doing it. Have seen Carl Graham a time or two but been years ago.

I will agree with Rees and Cray, at one time Grenada was the of the best Bass fishing lakes in the country. Sardis and Enid not far behind. It was nothing to catch 100 to 150 bass a day. The St Jude would fill up every year on Sardis during 70's, 80's and 90's but for the past reveal years the attendance has been down. I believe it has been several years since the St Jude tournament had a full field. I have heard rumors that the St Jude Tournament may consider moving to Pickwick in an attempt to pick up the attendance.
Moving to pickwick would make the tourny world class imo.
