I hit cane creek again this morning about 7:30,,,only one boat and one kayak there.Method was longlinie trolling. Most fish caught in the 14-16 FOW,.I went out where I caught the fish last saturday and they were still pretty close in the same area. The Lord blessed me with a good many fish ,with the keeper to short ratio about one to one. The later in the morning the bite died down,,It came two rain showers this morning, one about 9 and the other about 11:00 as I was leaving. It felt good to rained on!!.I am supposed to carry a family member out saturday thats lives in Tennessee.Says he has never caught a crappie off anything but minnows,,,I hope to change that for him saturday..The wind forecast dont look too good(unless you have a sail boat). We only have a couple hours to fish,,we got strict orders to get back and get stuff ready for the big eat/cook out.Heres a pic to keep Butch off of me.
I almost forgot to mention,,almost all fish caught were BARELY hooked,I mean just barely.I changed four jigs this morning with the tail bit off,,All SLIDER jigs.I have not noticed this before, dont know if its a summertime bite thing or what.I lost several fish bout halfway to the boat
Glad to see someone on the water catching fish. Thanks for the report.
Sam , Ya look like a wet dog there . But a happy wet dog. Congratulations on the catch and good luck on Sat. By the way I guess my invite is in the mail to the cooking and eating?![]()
Sam, it's good seeing youre catching fish by longlining. I had told myself to stay home until fall of the year but now you have me wanting to go again. Congrats on the catch...AGAIN!Since Saturday l;ooks like wind and a short trip anyway I'd suggest you get launched about 5:45AM and take full advantage of what little time you guys will have to catch 'em. Anyways, hope you can get on 'em again this Saturday. Just keep those reports (and pictures, of course) coming.

congrats again on a nice catch == thanks for report and pics
Fish tremble at the sound of my name
Glad to see you out there getting bit. Cane Creek sounds like a good honey hole. Short strikes could you drop to the smaller size sliders and slow down. I don't know what size you are using but experiment some and see. Good time for sure any time on the water, thanks for the post and picture.
Hey sam, I went this morning too, vertical jigging, brush, They were barely biting, dropped a lot off the hook as I lifted them over the side of the boat, barely hooked! If you didn't pay attention you would miss the bite, it was so soft . Most were about the same size as what you have been catching 9 to 11 inches, but they were fun catching them .
Good job, you should killem tomorrow! I wish I could go tomorrow!
Is Cane Creek where we had the night stalk a while back. Thought it was Fishing Creek, but now I am confused.![]()
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
Ray, Cane Creek closes at about 7pm so it must have been Fishing Creek
A good cool down shower I'm sure felt good. Good looking fish, congrats on the catch and thanks for posting the report.
