I'm still a newbie to this crankbait pulling/pushing, but I tend to agree with being cautious with schooling in depth . I've already run into individuals just wanting your spots, lure color, depth, speed, what meat is on your sandwich for lunch etc. lol. However, when I started I read everything I could. Discovered this forum and read every post I could, past and present and asked equipment questions. Several members here freely gave advice and I'm appreciative their assistance.
i then arranged to meet with a guide to show me how to do it on the water and off I went. I soon found nothing takes the place of being on the water. While I' don't set the woods on fire, I do catch my share of the fish. Several have showed me some additional pointers and I have benefited from their guidance. I will not name them due to not wanting them being bothered by others who don't do the homework and are looking for shortcuts. I hope they have benefited from my limited knowledge of the lake and areas I've discovered. I know I've just enjoyed the time fishing with them.
in closing, I do share general information and techniques with individuals and after seeing them take it seriously and putting effort will help further because others did help me. However, I will not share with them spots these others have shown me. What I'm shown stays with me and when I give my word I keep it. Just the way I was raised. I'll freely let anybody check my boat out and show them my setups. Not saying they are best, but just what is working for me.
Hope to see you all on the water. I run from the dam to big sandy. I'm the old fart with a floopy hat in a grey war eagle. In cool weather, you will see a golden retriever riding shotgun. Remember your witness cause someone else surely will.
