    Nice catch! It goes to show you that 10% of the time, 50% of the fish are hungry all of the time.

    Ohio R. is at action stage and at a few places (Cairo) it is at minor/mod flood stage. They will be holding as much water back as possible for a few days. Looks like they will be pulling 7-12k through the weekend.

    I fished Barkley Wednesday afternoon for a few hours pushing cranks. I tried a creek channel all the way to the river channel with no luck. Went to a bay I've been catching all spring and managed one big crappie, one largemouth and a bunch of stripes running over the top of brush along a creek channel in 11-15 ft of water. I'm thinking about spider rigging those piles Tuesday with minnows now.

    Those fish were caught 2 poling jigs tipped with nibbles.

    Pab1981 I was catching good on orange and chartreuse early, and on pink and chartreuse. what color did you have the best luck with?

    They weren't real picky, anything dark and chart caught fish.

    mississippi river at cape girardeau has been on flood stage for about 3 wks now. finally crested at 43 ft last friday but its gonna come right back up to 44 ft by this thurs or friday. may be a little while before they let any water out of ky lake due to the river levels at cairo

    To be honest, there's just not that much extra water in the TN and Cum. river system right now. You are right about the Cairo gauge though. We got a big rise coming outta this Ohio too.

    You're right, Meldahl pool is backed up especially for this time of year. And it's raining here almost everyday.
