Am I the only one to recognize Dr. Jones as our own "bryophyte" or more commonly known as Ray? He joins us at D'Arbonne each fall for a grand time. My wife loves talking with him. There is a very nice story on him in the Louisiana Sportsman. Check it out on line.

    Or am I totally wrong.

That's a chink, which might be considered a bream by some.

I didn't see the article in the hard print copy I received yesterday Gene. Don't do the online thing. Nice link you sent though. A chink is a bream to me, which I love catching.

    Hey PPG,

I don't remember him. I'll have to look him up next time. Maybe I can talk him into lending you a hat.

Hey pawpaw, I knew exactly who you were talking about and yes that looks like him to me. He hasn't been to the Darbone gathering in several years if I remember correctly and I sure do miss him going. Thanks for the post and link, I will definetely check it out.

Let's give him a special invite to join us again this year! Seems like a real interesting fellow.

George, Ray is a wonderful addition to our group. It is always interesting to engage him in conversation, and as you can see by the article he is a superb fisherman.

"Bryophyte" or as I know him, Mr. Ray, is a fine fellow and a very educated man. He taught at ULM, or as it was known then NLU, for many years. He used to buy jigs from my mother-in-law and father-in-law. Many years after my in-laws quit making their D&P jigs, mine were stolen out of my boat. When Mr. Ray heard that all of my in-laws jigs had been stolen from me, he mailed me most of the jigs he had that my in-laws had molded, painted, and tied. Because of Mr. Ray, I now have some of those D&P jigs to pass down to my grandsons and granddaughters. Thank you, "Bryophyte" and thank you PawPaw Gene for reminding me of him. I have not seen him post on here in a very long time. I hope and pray all is well with him.
