    Default Smithville this AM, EARLY......................

Thinking I would be one of the few early birds this AM at Smithville...................... WRONGGGGGGGGGGGG, launched at W- Bridge, half of the parking lot was already half full at 6:00 AM. Anyway , was on the hunt for white bass, they were hard to find, despite it being windy, they were NOT in the same place they were the other day, needless to say, did find them after some hunting. Found them at 8:00 a m . and by 8:45 had my limit. BIG ONES !! I was told, to use 1/4 oz, i used one and the fish ran off with it, broke the line to boot. Replaced it with a 1/2 oz , (jig) LOOK OUT, the big ones were there, you could feel the small ones hiting it but couldn't eat it, the big ones had no problem. On main lake flats ; 12-16 ftw W/ WIND 45 minutes, and done, went home , cleaned them and soaking in 7-up, till dinner tonight. TOOOOOOOO hot for afternoon fishing.Name: 20150620_131607.jpg

Gets the MUD taste out ( from the red meat), just like the river taste of catfish, soak them in 7-up to get the mud taste out of them.

Nice job! I put in at W about 5:30, went north dipped trees no luck. Pulled cranks back to W ended up with 3 keepers, a lot of short hits, didn't pick up any whites.

There was some tournament going out of W yesterday morning. When i got there they were calling out boat numbers as guys took off. Not sure what kind of tournament but there were a decent amount of boats out there.

We went out for bass but I hit the trifecta, bass, crappie and a white all on spinner baits in the brush. I did scan a few of the "summer trees" I normally dip and didn't see a single crappie.
