    Default Lake Claiborne Question

I went there Sunday (first time) and it looked like a really nice lake. Managed 4 good ones close to the state park after trying many other places I was told about to no avail. Does anyone have any tips, pointers, advice, locations etc for the lake? Even a good map would help. I couldnt make heads or tails of all the marker poles out there by Pleasure Point. Ended up finding a stump in what I thought was open water.. scared the mess outta me! Id like to go there more often - With Bistineau all jacked up from the flood, Im starting to venture to unknown waters a little more. Thanks for any help.

Have a hunting camp out there on the water by pleasure point. Never fished it. Talk to one of the guys that live there and he says he does well good and all big fish.

I think Paster lives on that lake now. Maybe he'll pipe in before long.

I was beginning to wonder....was thinking "It must be so good nobody wants to say anything about it". The 4 I caught were quality fish. about 1-1/2lb each.

Progator, im a lake Bisteneau man as well, grew up in Minden but moved to homer four years ago . I wish I knew more about it myself. If you have tops you can do ok in the summer time but it does not get much pressure this time of year with most people skiing or pleasure boating. It does have some quality fish though.

Yeah the ski boats had it pretty chopped up. Lots of potential it seems. Just need scout it real good over the winter and hit the deep brush early in the morning during the summer before the skiers get out.

Let me get the rectifier figured out on my boat and I'll gladly come spend some days out on Claiborne with you. I live in Minden but work in Homer. I would love to have company fishing out on Claiborne.

You can learn a lake pretty quick pulling crankbaits around at 1.5 to 2.0 mph
