I sent them an email. I never seen anything about it, and there was nothing on my receipt that said anything about it being a handicapped site.

I was booking a site at Ionia and under step #3 on the first page of the reservation website it states:

NEW: Campers wishing to reserve a barrier free or accessible campsite must show a, “Disabilities Parking Permit,” issued by the Secretary of State or another form of official notification explaining eligibility for a barrier free campsite.

    Just FYI.

Look, I booked this site not knowing it was a handicapped site. Were not handicapped and I surely wouldn't reserve a site like that had I known or seen anything about it. I sent an email to the DNR explaining what I did. I'm going to call Bruin Lake Park this morning and explain to them that I made a mistake on my reservation and get it straightened out.

I just called, they made the change without the 10.00 fee because Bruin does not inform you at time of reservation. Just call the 800 number in the confirmation and explain the situation. We are now on 92.

Well, I just called the800# and got charged $10 for the change. We are now on site 101. But at least it's straightened out.

That's good. I didn't mean to start anything or get you riled up Larry, I just noticed that you booked that site and didn't want you to find out when it was too late. All the state parks/campgrounds have the same notices on the reservation website as they all have a small number of ADA sites and want to make sure only those who are handicapped reserve them. Glad it's straight now.

No, I'm not riled, just never seen anything about it on there. Got it fixed ($10) and were on site 101---you know, like Crappie 101?
