    Default Gas mileage

A while back we were talking about gas mileage, I think Don Don started the thread.
I said I had an add on turbo in the intake air line and was getting better mileage. I guess some of the mileage depends on what brand gas I was buying along with speed.
With the turbo I was getting 22 to 25 miles per gallon.
Without the turbo I'm getting 15 to 19 miles per gallon.
I'll be putting the turbo back in before pulling the camper for sure.

if it works that well, why wouldn't the auto manufactures just add it to begin with? mileage is a great selling value. doesn't add up to me.

Takeum got the right name. Napa is the only dealer that sells them. If I had gained 5 miles per tank at 200,000 miles the $22 price would be worth it.
In the original thread I said I would remove it and check the mileage.

You remove the air intake hose off at the filter housing. Slide the turbo into the hose enough to clear the mounting surface when you put the hose back on the housing.
The ones I bought were the correct size with the hose.
The ones I find now are kits. They come with sleeves to fit a few different size hoses within a range, say 3" to 3 1/2".

cane,,,, had you ever considered the older Vara injection which sprays water and gas via the intake and increases and cleans as it works? it's what used to be used in aircraft for years and did very well,,, Not so many people attempted using these on automobiles,,, I'd love to try this myself,,,
