Default hot water crappie action 6/6/15:Report

Had a couple of hours to kill sunday while me and a buddy were waiting on the guy to show up with the boat I had been looking at. Managed to get about 35 keepers in 2 hours threw back anything that didn't look like it was over 10 inches. Water temp hovered around 90-91 degrees. Caught one of the biggest crappie I caught this year he was probably pushing 2-2 1/4lbs As always June bug chartreuse and black chartreuse slider grubs were the baits of choice on 1/16 ounce jigheads. Dropped down to 4lb test and it's a night and day difference for shooting docks. Been trying the suffix hi vis yellow and it's about the best line I've found so far to me.

    wbeadlescomb,

    Great job and great report!

I love to see someone else defy logic and catch them when the water is in the 90's!

It had just started getting good in the last couple of months they are schooled up tight. I hate when they start moving up shallow they get harder to target because they are all spread out. It's just going to get better from now to the fall

I have to ask, what line you fishing with before you stepped to 4lb test line? I use 6lb and have thought about stepping down myself. But that's a lot of jigs to tye on with the docks & structure I fish.

6lb in suffix trilene and Mr. Crappie I don't lose anymore jigs now that I did with 6. Most of the time it's hung up by the jighead and not the hook
