Since the south end of the chain was a bust last weekend, decided to give the other end a try and boy did it pay off!! Great weather, nice overcast, little wind. Caught 30 in 2 hours by 0900...would of stayed longer, but my nephew fell off the boat...he's fine.

Kept 19 for the freezer. Nice to get back in the swing of it again...been many months waiting. Long fish was 13", heavy fish was only 1.1lbs, but all over 10 inches....good eating size.

Couple more weekends like that and we'll be trying out some recipes from the cookbook.

Excellant report Nate, pictures to back it up..............

Good way to break in new boat with good catch - fun for all involved, exept one that
    fell over.

Curious, what type rod holders you have there on rear of boat ?

Haven't opened box yet. Thought they kinda looked like Spyder Loc's.
Hoping to get mine(boat) back by June 20th. Put order in today for new tandem axle
trailer (Peterson Trailer)(they are 5 wks build out) putting Atlas hydralic jack plate (1 yr old, very little usage) on it while at "big 0". Gave me pretty good price for it including all hardware & installation.

Yep they're the spyderloks. I've used cumberland 360s and driftmasters, but spyderloks are by far my favorite. I am also changing the rigging as the rear deck is simply not long enough for 2 people longlining so will be installing pedastal seats in the rear area of the recessed deck area and moving the rod holders back within arms reach. Definitely a work in progress but we're having a blast figuring it out! That being said, think I might be selling my two Millenium Marine seats and the EZT Pole Perch.

Still have no clue what I'm gonna do about transporting long rods yet...

My nephew wasn't deterred for too long after taking a spill. He has already text me asking when we're going again, and says I owe him a bass trip! He loves bass fishing.

Good read, enjoy the new rig. I took about 3 years to rig mine to where it is today.
