Was a little windy today but as usual you found a way to shine. (Grin) Good job and good pix. Looks like some of those crappie are thickin up from the spawn. It's about time.

Gary Fomby, aka, Biofisher, went with me today in search of crappie. It was windy to begin with this AM, before it finally settled down and was a very nice pleasant day to fish. Wind from the NE early. Water temp was around 77.5 the only time that I looked at it. Fishing was slow for us today in the 1/2 day that we fished. We did end up with 12 keepers that Gary took home for the dinner table. Nothing really big today with the biggest fish around 12". We didn't have too many shorts, but 2 spotted bass took up a little slack in the day.
We caught most of our fish on bobby garland blue ghost baby shads and crappie dawg lures in a chartreuse color and I don't know the name of the color. It had tiny black specks in the chartreuse. The fish liked it best today.
I will try again to figure out how to post pics. If successful, I will post a pic of a 14.0 inch black crappie that I caught day before yesterday as well.![]()

Glad somebody is still going and catching a few. Good report.
I forgot to add to my report that I saw the first willow fly hatch in progress on one of our bluffs. Not too many yet, but a few were emerging.
I found someone's secret crappie/bass cover. Grin.
