Hello, Im new to the site, I do alot of Crappie fishing on my home lakes lake Cumberland and Green River Lake, but would love to get into night fishing for Crappie under lights but i no nothing of where or how to setup on these two lakes to start fishing at night. If anyone has any Tip's on when the best time to start, depths, or places I need to be at, or even partner up on some trips i would sure be in dedt to you. Thanks so much. Im glad i found this site.

welcome to C.C the best fishing site on the net!!
Haven't fished at night for a long while, but when I did I'd go out just before dark tie up in some tree tops that look they might produce fish drop green or white lights over the side. wait a little bit then start fishing in the outer reaches of the light usually with a slip bobber rig cross my fingers and wait. use minnows or jigs and nibbles hope this helps you a little

We like findin a good pile on a hump off the main channel. Anchorin up right before dark. Put the light out and tight line minnows or jigs. Hot part of the summer is when we get the best bait balls.

Welcome to CC!! The hotter the water the deeper I like to fish! I fished 26ft tonight surrounded bye 40! Water temp was 78degrees. We did good but white bass and striper was slamming and crappie didn't have time to get on are hooks, ran out of bait! Set marker before dark where you want to fish. Then use 2 anchors one bow of the boat and the other at the stern! Anchor ropes tight and should look like 45' degrees off bow and stern! Hope this helps! Good luck! And welcome!!

I've been out two times this past month for some night fishing and have had all kinds of trouble getting any kind of shad or "bait ball" under the lights. Anybody else having that kind of problem. If not any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong. Been rigging it this way for several years and never had trouble getting shad.
