Mark Twain Lake
Father in law and I are heading to Mark Twain Lake for a weekend of fishing. We usually catfish the rivers of Iowa but thought we would try something new for the weekend. Anyone have any tips on catching any crappies at this lake? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I haven't been there in a few weeks but I would bet most fish are off the banks and the fish are working their way into typical summer patterns. steep banks and bluffs with standing timber is usually a good bet. some days the little rocky points at the mouths of coves are good. the hwy 107 bridge piers usually produce crappies, if all else fails. black and chartruse is a good color jig to start with. tip your jigs with minnows or crappie nibbles. good luck!
