Default Big Flathead pic. from wylie may 30

haven't been doing much fishing but i had a couple drive in from columbia to try to catch a big flatt cat. i took them to wateree a month ago for a big blue but we struck out and only got a few mid 20's, so i told them i owed them a free trip to wylie for a flatt cat . this what we got

This is one of the prettiest looking mottling iv'e seen on a fish, the pictures don't do her justice. we tagged her and turned her loose to fight another day.
it was 48.9 lb, almost 50" long wish i could have got it on gopro but it was dark. we did get a video of us tagging her

Nice catch, that was good of you to do a free trip because the catch wasn't big enough

    nice one.

I was cruising a certain end of the lake im sure you fish pretty regular a few weeks back and seen 3 large flatheads floating dead within a 1/2 mile area. such a shame to see!!

yea they had a bunch of bowkillers up there about that time. it is a sad thing to see people kill just for the fun of killing.

Back in my younger days I ate any catfish I happen to shoot while bowfishing. Other than that it was strictly gar and carp. That's one fine looking flattie and I bet a couple of happy clients. Congrats on putting 'em on it. BTW, what did it bite?
