    Default Quick Harris Trip Report

After a full weekend of family commitments I managed to slip away Sunday evening for a couple of hours. Fished 6:00 - 8:30pm, started off catching a few gills and then switched to crappie. Fish were in 15 fow but hanging at 8 - 10 foot depth. Managed to land 12 and lost about 7 more and probably another 10 or so bites that didn't hook up at all (I would see the tip thump).

Newish to spider rigging. Seems my hookup ratio spider rigging is low compared to when I hold the pole in hand. I can feel the thump and set the hook quick when I hold the pole but it seems spider rigging they have to hook themselves good, so I miss a lot of bites. Anyhow, spider rigging was the better option since they seemed scattered about and I could cover more water.

    Happy fishing

I missed a bunch slow trolling because they would hit hard and throw the hook. In the winter time when they hit they would not let go. For me it seems the summer is a lighter bite 70% of the time.
