    Default Spider Rigging Grandsons Report

Had a fun morning fishing with two grandsons this morning. They wanted to try spider rigging as they had heard me mention it. I doubted that fish would be biting after last night's rain, but we had to try. After getting the four 14' rods set up in the holders and explaining the procedures, off we went. We soon caught a 9" crappie and the boy's excitement took over. Soon they were both in the front of the boat and I was in the gewber seat. One would operate the trolling motor while the other handled the rods. When a fish was caught they would swing it back to me for the unhooking. We wound up with 8 decent crappie and tossed a couple of small ones back. They loved spider rigging and I had a blast.
