Me and my two youngest hit a local county lake and thumped them pretty good on a Lindy Spin head with a Slider grub body over the holiday weekend. Junebug/Char tail, White, and Chartreuse/Orange tail were the go to colors. I pinched a segment off the body to match the profile and secured it with a drop of super glue.
We cast and retrieved them with short hops to trigger the early morning bite -- but there was a spell around 10am when the action slowed and they wanted a S-L-O-W crawl to get strikes. We long lined for about an hour and did very well covering lots of water once the sun got hot.
My sons are 12 and 6 and they flat out love Crappie fishing!
Nice post. Remember we love pix on C.c. Esp. of kids fishing!!
