Well ED I hit the N/W river today with my wife and she was my fish counter. I found most fish in 5 ft of water fishing 2 to 3 feet deep usen Bobby Garland baits. I caught and released 48 crappie. Had a good time fishing with wife.

I've been fishing, but not for crappie. Been off all week chasing brown bass. Caught 2 river monsters, 31 and 32 inch musky. Hit a new to me river, the New River at Radford, we got 3 stripers and had a for real monster musky jump a buzz bait right beside the boat. At least 4 feet and very fat. But a couple weeks ago I did pull about 30 crappie off one stump at Lake Conner.

Like GeneC said, we catchin over 100 a day at Buggs fishin the over 400 brush piles I know of there. Doin a lot better now that all the "real" crappie fishermen have hung up their long rods till next "Crappie Season" LOL! I've been crappie fishin a couple days a wk, cat fishin bout once a wk, LMB fishin a couple days a wk, gettin ready to go after the Walleye next wk, spooled up my rods with new line an tied up some crawler rigs, an prolly be chasin some big Bluegill an ShellCracker round this Full Moon, flyroddin fro the 'Gills an worms on the bottom for the Crackers...so many fish, so little time...

I graduated from radford university mountain man... There are some huge smallies and musky around the new river in the radford area... Hope you get back out there and get that big one! Where are you hiking the AT at flatwater? Where I have been trout fishing is damascus, va and they just had the annual trail days up there.

Hey Ed the last report I gave I think I had 2 people give comments so I figured why bother. Most reports are so tight lipped now days and everybody thinks people are following them around. As long as I have been posting I try to give a detailed report. heck If someone ask I tell them where I find the fish. I just don,t know why all the tight lips.
